I have been in love with astronomy since my Uncle Malcolm introduced me to the solar system as a boy and played me The Planets by Holst. Nebula 1 is inspired by the real Horsehead Nebula. Chalk pastel is the perfect medium to express the ethereal nature of dust and gas in space, and the incubation of new stars and new life.
